Pads or tampons?? Tampons are the easier and the more comfortable way to go. You can purchase tampons in a petite (smaller size) for the first timer. Try to go with the plastic applicator as the paper is dry and irritating to sensitive tissue. It does not hurt as in pain!!!!!! it maybe a little uncomfortable at first insertion but not pain. Just relax your muscles when putting it in and you will be fine. I defer from pads due to the bulk and the feeling that I am wearing a diaper. Some pads can show as a bulge in your clothing and are more involved to dispose of. Your activity maybe limited by a pad, you cannot go swimming, or shower with a pad but can with a tampon. Either way the choice is yours to make, do not make it based on what other people say but on your own comfort and activity level.
