Had a tooth pulled out! when can i eat normally?

about 5 days ago i had a tooth surgically removed on the bottom right side of my mouth. they stiched it up but i just noticed a few minutes ago that the stitching is gone. is that normal? and also, would it be safe for me to start chewing on that side of my mouth again? i've been chewing all my food on the left side of my mouth. and one last thing, apparently when i was on anesthesia i kept chewing on my lip since it was numb and now i have canker sores on the inside of my lip and under my tongue, not to mention a bruise on the outside of my lip. when will everything completely heal?
