Why would the doctor repeatedly check for cancer for 15minutes?

So my 2 month pregnant girlfriend. Had her doctor switched after she learned about the pregnancy, and on first visit he checks for cancer. Without the nurse in the room, he checks each for about 5 minutes and then repeated one again for another 5 minutes, she said that (he was sort of her not like her past checks have been) and she also asked him after about 5-6 minutes (if she had cancer) and he replied no, and then after another 5min she asked (Do i have breast cancer yet?) and he said no, and check for another 5 minutes. Is this at all normal?
