How can my friend get out of the Army now!?

He finished BCT and is now in AIT and graduates in Jan. He is suffreing from mental problems bad! They won't let him see a doctor. He went to sick call because of shin splints and although that is healing, his mental status is bad and he is talking of killing himself. He said he made a mistake and can't take another human life. I don't know what to do to help him. His mom called and talked to the Drill Sgt. and although he was really nice to her, boy did he let my friend have IT! That just made it worse. I know he signed a contract, but we all make mistakes in life and isn't the military still VOLUNTEER even though a contract was signed?
