Ditched car with no original title, can I get a new title?

A friend of a friend left a 2005 eclipse spyder at my house n said that they wanted us to help sell it. Tried calling car owner to Have him remove it from my yard but no answer. Called many times, house, cell, sister, no answer. Is this considered abandoned? Can I get my own title for it now? If so, how? I think It would be a big waste to junk it if I can make some money from it.
