Could you help me generate some What If questions for the novel The Hot Zone by Richard Preston?

The Hot Zone is a nonfiction book about an Ebola outbreak in Virginia. What exactly "what if" are you looking for? What if the Ebola virus broke out in the U.S.? It already did. Granted, it was a mutated strain that rendered it harmless to humans even though it was airborne, but nevertheless it broke out. I think a better answer to the what if question of this book is another book called, The Stand.
